When you are hammering away at the work, trying to get the important stuff done, distractions are rife.

Distractions that want to tear you away from writing your book. Distractions that want all of your attention, all of the time. Distractions that leech your creativity and mental energy.

As a writer, there is no moment more precious than the moments you are creating. Your mind, body, and soul work in perfect unison to allow this beautiful creation to find its way towards the light of day.

Your creative mind is a detective, it seeks out the stories of beauty and brilliance to feed into your own. Everything around you influences and inspires your brilliant mind.

It is truly one of the most fulfilling and beautiful experiences a person can have. There is nothing like it. No experience, thought, or feeling ever comes close to uncovering the wonders of your own creation.

The way your mind functions is truly special. Wouldn’t it be great if you could really lock it in and be able to do it at will?

The sensory enclosure idea I talk about so often is something that was initially put together to help entrepreneurs to get more done. I quickly realised that it actually had a far greater purpose: it focuses your creativity to enable you to get the best out of your writing.

The how is relatively simple, that’s what the video explains so well. The ‘why’ is also in there but I assume that if you are here reading this you will need a little push to take the leap and watch the video.

Why is a sensory enclosure so effective for creative writers?

A sensory enclosure helps you to create your own world. That world, and the elements within, are all totally under your control.

It is up to you, and only you, to decide what you bring into your bubble.

Consider this, your writing helps the reader to envelop themselves in a world that is outside of their normal life. It offers them escapism in the form of reassurance and comfort, intrigue and discovery.

A sensory enclosure does that very same thing for you.

A sensory enclosure brings you closer to your creation. It helps you to feel it as well as write it. It helps you to create in safety.

No matter how resilient a person you are, you will always fall prey to the distractions that real life throws your way. Those things matter but, when you are writing the only thing that truly matters is your creation.

The sensory enclosure idea has also produced some really fantastic results for those who fall under the neurodiversity umbrella. My son has a diagnosis of ASD (Autism Spectrum Disorder) and I homeschool him. I have found that, for him, the sensory enclosure has had an enormously positive impact on his education.

To be clear, I am not in any way qualified to help with such conditions. I am simply sharing with you some of the positive results I have seen.

If you would like to increase your creative potential then I cannot stress enough just how valuable a tool a sensory enclosure can be.

The actual implementation is really simple, so simple that it can easily be worked into a habit.

Watch the short video and find out for yourself how you can improve your next writing project by finding a more effective way of working.

Sensory Enclosures — a tool for creative writers to help you to craft the perfect piece.

At this point you are probably after a link to the video, am I right?

Well, I’m going to go one better. Here’s the video embedded in this very blog post. Convenient and thoughtful, at least I thought so.

When you do try this out, don’t forget to leave a comment on the youtube video letting me know how effective it has been for you. While you are there, a like and subscribe would be really appreciated.
